Mememe - Tine Bech/Sam Woolf/Dave Lawerence, England
		Mememe – som i me me chose me – er en interaktiv lydinstallation, der er lavet for at få folk til at lege og interagere. Projektet kombinerer skulptur og lyd med software, der er i stand til at positionere lyd i realtid, i et givent rum og herved frembringe interessante klangstrukturer. Installationen ansporer folk til leg ved at invitere dem til at tage sjove sko på, der siger forskellige lyde, når man går i dem. Man vil herved kunne komponere egne lyde ved hjælp af forskellige gangarter. Med samspillet som udgangspunkt vil stilhed, larm og de komplekse klangstrukturer smelte sammen.		Mememe (as in me me me – choose me!) is an interactive sound installation that is designed to make people play and interact. The project combines sculpture and sound with real time position location software to promote the emergence of interesting sonic structures. The installation encourages people to play by inviting them to wear shoes that look unusual which makes various sounds when you walk in them. The participants will be able to compose their own sounds by playing with walking styles, distance and speed. Through their collaborative play, silence, noise and complex sonic structures will emerge.

The Corporate fallout Detector - James Patten, USA
		- skanner stregkoder på forskellige dagligvarer og laver en klikkende lyd på baggrund af miljømæssige og etiske optegnelser over produktet. Installationen forholder sig til emnet fælles ansvarlighed og det personlige valg. Grundet stigningen i komplekse, globale forsyningskæder, kan enkelte af de produkter vi køber indeholde ingredienser fra forskellige kompagnier fra hele verden, hvoraf noget kan være acceptabelt for os og andet ikke.		- scans barcodes off of consumer products, and makes a clicking noise based on the environmental or ethical record (selectable via the "sensitivity" switch) of the manufacturer. It explores issues of corporate accountability and individual choice. Due to increasingly complex global supply chains, a single product we buy may contain parts made by various companies all over the world. We may agree with the business practices of some of these companies, while not with others.

Move 36 - Eduardo Kac, USA
		Move 36 er en fortsættelse af Kac’s undersøgelser af forholdet mellem det menneskelige og det ikke menneskelige. Værket er inspireret af skakspillet mellem Gary Kasparov og en computer i 1997. Værket består af et stort skakbord lavet a fjord og sand. På bordet er en genmodificeret plante, der bruger ASCII computertekst til at omsætte Descartes ironiske statement ”Jeg tænker – derfor er jeg” til en genetisk kode. Move 36 relaterer sig til grænseomrædet mellem det menneskelige og vores fællesskab med andre livsformer.		"Move 36" makes reference to the dramatic move made by the computer called Deep Blue against chess world champion Gary Kasparov in 1997. The installation sheds light on the limits of the human mind and the increasing capabilities developed by computers and robots. The installation presents a chessboard made of earth (dark squares) and white sand (light squares) in the middle of the room. Positioned exactly where Deep Blue made its Move 36 is a plant whose genome incorporates a new gene that I created specifically for this work. The gene uses ASCII (the universal computer code for representing binary numbers as Roman characters, on- and off-line) to translate Descartes's statement: "Cogito ergo sum" (I think therefore I am) into the four bases of genetics.

“Police State” - Jonah Brucker-Cohen, USA
		Carnivore er kælenavnet på FBIs overvågningsprogram for datanetværk. Carnivore tjener til at registrere email-trafikken til privatpersoner og deres surferadfærd. Radical Software Group har i Carnivore Personal Edition offentliggjort dette program på http://r-s-g.org/carnivore/ – og inviteret kunstnere til at lave projekter med programmet som udgangspunkt. Et af projekterne er PoliceState, det visualiserer datatrafik på en motoriseret måde. Carnivore PE-programmet søger efter blacklistede ord på nettet som, i følge FBI, indikerer et forstående terroristangreb mod amerikanske interesser. Når ”suspekte” ord bliver fundet går alarmen ud til 20 fjernstyrede legetøjsbiler, der rykker ud med hylende sirener.		Carnivore is the nickname for the FBI's DCS1000 surveillance software. In the Carnivore Project the Radical Software Group (RSG) has made this software public and given designers and artists the chance to experiment with it. PoliceState, designed by Jonah Brucker-Cohen, is one of these creative applications, which visualizes data traffic in a motorized way. The hardware part of the installation consists of 20 radio-controlled miniature police cars which are simultaneously fed with data taken off a local srea network (LAN). This data is analyzed by CarnivorePE by using a 'blacklist' of keywords that, according to the FBI, are indications of a terrorist attack on American territory. When found, such a suspect word is converted by PoliceState's software into a police code, causing the toy cars to disperse in a controlled choreography.

Steve Kurtz - Critical Art Ensemble, USA
		Critical Art Ensemble burger videnskabelig materiale til at udvikle kunstprojekter, der sætter spørgsmålstegn til forholdet mellem bioteknologi, handel og politik. Udstyret, som CAE anvender til at teste almindelige produkter, er ved tidligere lejlighed blevet konfiskeret af FBI, og gruppens hovedaktør Steve Kurtz anholdt for mistanke om bioterrorisme. Ved laboratorieundersøgelser blev det bevist, at gruppens materialer er uskadelige og uanvendelige til farlig brug. Gruppen er verdenskendt for deres performative installationer og vil her vise installationen ”Marching Plague”.		Critical Art Ensemble uses scientific equipment to create art projects that question the relationship between commerce, politics and bio technology. The group has exhibited this art all over the world. The equipment that CAE used to test common products has also been confiscated by the FBI, even though laboratory tests have shown that it was not used for any illegal purpose, and it is not possible to use this equipment for the production or weaponization of dangerous germs.

“Power of mind 2” - Mogens Jacobsen, Denmark
		The Power of the Mind 2 / "I Hear Denmark Singing" bruger en sang af Bertel Haarder som en skæv politisk kommentar. En online version af teksten er forbundet til en fysisk installation, der blandt andet består af en web-server og et elektrisk netværk koblet til et par hundrede kartofler (den danske national spise). Når kartoflerne langsomt skrumper ind og mister energi udskiftes bogstaverne i sangen gradvist med hjerter. Mogens Jakobsen viser “Power of mind 3” på udstillingen “På grænsen”.		The Power of the Mind 2 / "I Hear Denmark Singing" takes a song by the Danish Minister for Refugee, Immigration and Integration: Bertel Haarder as the point of departure for a political comment. An unstable online version of the song is connected to physical installation that consists of a web server with a transcription of the interview and an electric network of a couple of hundred potatoes (the Danish national food). When the potatoes begin dry out or sprout his stupid song will gradually disappear as a sign of fading memory and the text be replaced by heart shaped symbols. Mogens Jakobsen will show “Power of mind 3” at the exhibition “On the edge”.

Synaptic Caguamas - Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, Canada/Mexico
		Synaptic Caguamas er et stort motoriseret mexikansk ”cantina” bord med 30 ”caguama” ølflasker på hver 1 liter. Flaskerne snurrer rundt på bordet i mønstre inspireret af de cellulære automatiske algoritmer – som er et system af celler, der hele tiden opdateres efter forud bestemte regler for nabocellers vekselvirkning med hverandre, og som stimulerer de neurale forbindelser i hjernen. Med få minutters mellemrum omstilles flaskerne med nye betingelser for algoritmen, således at de mønstre, flaskerne danner, aldrig gentager sig. Denne kinetiske eller bevægelige skulptur er et primitivt og absurd forsøg på at visualisere erindringens og tankernes matematik.		Synaptic Caguamas is a large motorized Mexican “cantina” table with 30 “Caguama”-sized beer bottles (1-litre each). The bottles spin on the table with patterns generated by cellular automata algorithms that simulate the neuronal connections in the brain. Every few minutes the bottles are reset and seeded with new initial conditions for the algorithm so that the movement patterns are never repeated. This kinetic sculpture is a primitive and absurd attempt to materialize the mathematics of recollection and thought.
