December 2006, Århus, Denmark "It is the task of Art to Humanise Technology" Nam June Paik International Digital Art Festival “On the edge In-between function and disruption” was divided up into two subjects: Theme events: The theme exhibition “On the edge” and the belonging seminar:”Crime and political aspects in Digital Art” did highlight an ongoing discussion in the computer-world, namely the conflict of interests between functionality and sensuality. The artists did challenge the present affairs which the society represent - among other things by influencing the goal-directed results of the technological science research and the commercial development of products. Satellite events: International Digital Art Festival did present a row of exhibitions, concerts and performances in a network of local galleries and cultural organisations which appeals to a wide audience. The satellite events was shown at The Centre for Advanced Visualization and Interaction, The Jutland Academy of Fine Arts, Aarhus Library, Gallery Image, Udstillingsstedet Spanien 19c, Aarhus Film workshop and Kulturcenter Huset. |
